Cost: $800 per hr
Duration: Min 3 hrs

The student’s portfolio is given a full, helpful critique and their strengths and weaknesses discussed. This helps to determine exactly what will be emphasised in their preparation for their exams. Focus is placed on composition, colour and light, life drawing and life painting, object drawing, object painting and perspective.

Depending on the students chosen course, full training (according to the syllabus) will be given in the areas of Textiles, Sculpture, Illustration, Printmaking, Graphic Design, Painting and Mixed Media, Composition (pure and imaginative) and Decorative arts.

The student is taught to appreciate the difference between an SBA (Project Oriented Work) and the requirements of a ‘sit down’ exam.

For those students enrolled in the school system, assistance is given for their SBAs (School Based Assessments), with all work produced in the studio being viable portfolio pieces. For those students enrolled privately with the studio, an additional exam is required, and full support is given for this additional paper through the Overseas Examination Centre.

Life Long Learners

Do you know anyone who is unable to read or write? Recommend this course to them! All classes are tailormade to the person’s needs, such as those who are unable to recognise letters or words, those who have some understanding of letters, and those who are lapsed readers (forgotten how to read). These can be adults, teenagers or young children who are not reading. No age group is excluded.

Focus is placed on creative methods of teaching using colour, sounds, pictures and shapes to facilitate the recognition of letters and words. The studio has its own successful training approach which we have named ‘the Right, Left and Centre method’.

The studio provides a cosy, private space that allows students to develop at their own pace and in a confidential setting. Most classes are one-to-one up to levels 3 and 4.
